Buddy was my Pointer Lab mix. He was a very special dog we adopted from the local animal shelter at 6 weeks old. He was very intelligent, as pointers generally are, and a very emotional dog. You could tell what he was thinking just by the expression on his face. He was also very vocal, barking at every bird, chipmunk, squirrel, or anything that moved. Buddy preferred to be outdoors so he could hunt, dig and roam around, to my dismay. He was the ‘Leader of the Pack’, and many times he would escape from our yard, and lead my other dogs off through the country side. Sometimes they would stay out all night, returning early the next morning. Exhausted, they would pass out on the front lawn.
